Western Dental has recently acquired a dental group practice in Southern California with 14 locations and acquired of eight of ten locations from another dental group practice.
The DSO purchased all 14 dental offices from Kids Dental Kare. The Kids Dental Kare offices are in Huntington Park, Hollywood, East Los Angeles, Panorama City, Lynwood, El Monte, Paramount, Norwalk, Crenshaw, Baldwin Park, Burbank, Pasadena, Oxnard, and Fresno. The organization has a history of providing pediatric dentistry in communities that are often underserved. Kids Dental Kare has been a major participant in the Denti-Cal program, part of the Medi-Cal public insurance program that provides health care benefits for more than 13 million low-income individuals and families in California.

Western Dental will expand orthodontic services in these offices and upgrade the in-office technology where needed.
Western Dental has also acquired eight locations from Children’s Dental Group. Children’s Dental Group is headquartered in La Palma, Calif. Six of the acquired offices are located in the Southern California communities of Carson, Eagle Rock, Norwalk, Santa Ana, South Gate and Whittier. The other two dental offices are located in Northern California. Those offices are in the towns of San Jose and Sunnyvale.
Children’s Dental Group was founded more than 30 years ago by Dr. Scott T. Jacks with the goal of providing access to comprehensive dental care for children in under-served communities. He opened the first office in South Gate in 1983 and expanded to other locations over the years. Dr. Jacks passed away in 2014. The Children’s Dental Group mission statement reads: “It is of monumental importance that we strive to make patient care our number one priority. We want to establish a feeling among our patients that their needs are fulfilled. It is our objective to provide dental care of the greatest possible value to our patients, thereby gaining and holding their respect and loyalty.”
Children’s Dental Care’s Anaheim location made the news when numerous pediatric patients contracted bacterial infections. Western Dental did not purchase the Anaheim or Baldwin Park locations of Children’s Dental Group.
