Norwest Venture Partners, an investment firm, announced a $20 million investment in Onsite Dental LLC, a company bringing comprehensive dentistry directly to organizations and universities. Norwest General Partner Ryan A. Harris, M.D., Vice President Ryan McDonald, and David Willens, founder and former CEO of Gentle Dental, will join the Onsite Dental board of directors.
Onsite Dental was founded in 1997 to bring state-of-the-art, full-service dental care to the workplace and today is the national leader, serving employers, unions and universities. The company currently provides onsite dental care in fixed-site and mobile practices to more than 230,000 staff members at leading organizations in technology, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, entertainment and higher education.
Onsite Dental has three distinct innovative delivery models including:
- Fixed Dental Practice – Onsite designs and builds a traditional fixed-site practice to complement the existing organization’s facility design. Fixed practice models are ideal for established clients interested in enhancing health centers and facilities onsite.
- Mobile -A state-of-the art mobile dental practice that travels to the organization’s location. Mobile practices are a simple way to embed medical facilities into a corporate campus setting.
- Pop-Up -In a pop-up model, dental equipment is placed in an existing medical clinic or other available space. Pop-ups are ideal for smaller businesses that have limited space but still want to give their employees convenient access to benefits and care.
Many companies, universities and other organizations have partnered with Onsite Dental to provide convenient, quality dental care to their employees such as:
Albertsons, American Express, Boeing, Columbia Sportswear, ConocoPhillips, Electronic Arts, Ebay, Facebook, Flir, Geico, Genentech, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Intel, Juniper Networks, KLA Tencor, LinkedIn, Marvell, Mentor Graphics, Mohawk, Nvidia, Oath, PayPal, Samsung, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Spacex, UC Santa Cruz and VMware.
“Norwest’s healthcare team focuses on research and outcome-based solutions to critical healthcare needs,” said Dr. Ryan A. Harris, general partner at Norwest. “Onsite Dental stands out not only for its exceptional quality of dental care and patient satisfaction, but also because the company saves money for patients and employers, and delivers care in a convenient manner that saves time.”
