Select Dental Management, a dental partnership organization (DPO), completed a total of 21 transactions in 2021, bringing their total active practice count to 34. Their partnership portfolio of general dentistry practices now spans eights states and Washington D.C. and treats over 100,000 patients annually.
The group was founded in February of 2018 with one location by two life-long friends, Elliot Zibel, former institutional investor and Dr. Jonathan Mason, a ‘Top 30 under 30’ dentist. In 2020, the DPO made Group Dentistry Now‘s prestigious Emerging Groups to Watch list. At that time, they had eight locations in Connecticut and New York.
At the core of their success is their People-Centric Partnership Model. “With our primary focus on providing best-in-class tools and support for our employees to grow, we enable them to provide our patients with the highest quality care,” notes Elliot Zibel, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Select Dental Management.
“Without the help of our almost 600 employees including almost 100 dentists, we never would be able to achieve this level of patient care, with our practices averaging 4.9 out of 5 stars on Google reviews.”
Select plans to continue their aggressive growth throughout 2022, with immediate plans to partner with 10+ offices in Q1 alone.
“In the midst of a continuing global pandemic and an uncertain economy, many dentists are looking for strategic partners when they sell to a DSO. We believe that with our partnership model, which provides our dentists the clinical autonomy they often desire, we’re well positioned to help dozens of practices succeed in 2022.” – Elliot Zibel, CEO of Select Dental Management
Dr. Robert De Rosso, Co-Owner/Dentist of Today’s Family Dental in Washington, NJ, partnered with Select in July 2021. “As a testament to my positive experience, I can honestly say that Select was the perfect partner. I had several conversations with numerous groups, but none of them were offering a true partnership as Select did,” says Dr. De Rosso. “Since our partnership, we’ve received unparalleled support from Select and have been able to continue to grow our practice.”
Zibel says Select aims to nearly double total practice count in 2022, with a goal to end the year at over 65 practices. “We’re fortunate to be in a position where we can continue to partner with successful practices who truly care about their patients and align with our culture and values. We look to further our position in our core geographies even more in 2022.”
In November 2021, Elliot Zibel joined the Group Dentistry Now podcast to discuss doctor recruitment, clinical education, mentorship and how to strategically grow your DSO. Watch or listen:
