DSO People! New DSO And Dental Group Hires, Promotions & Awards – July 2022

Lori Mixon joins Peak Dental Services as VP of Marketing. Prior to joining the DSO, she was VP of Marketing at Mid-Atlantic Dental Partners. She has also held marketing positions at Perfect Teeth, ASI Dental, and Complete Technology Solutions. Peak Dental Services is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The DSO was founded in 2008 by a dentist from small-town Minnesota, Dr. Douglas Peak, and his son A.J. Peak, a former McKinsey and Co. consultant.  The DSO made the Inc. 5000 list for four years.

Brittany Kearney is named Director of Clinical Success and Special Programs at Elite Dental Partners.  Prior to this position, Brittany was Orthodontic and Clear Aligner Program Director at Elite. She has also been a regional manager for Aspen Dental Management Inc. and an office manager at Chicagoland Smile Group. Elite Dental Partners was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Chicago, Il.

Tami Savage joins Elite Dental Partners as Vice President of Revenue Cycle at United Dental Partners. Prior to United, she worked for nearly five years at Elite Dental Partners in various revenue cycle and adminstrative roles. Tami worked at Heartland Dental as Practice Manager of Operations. United Dental Partners was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Chicago, Il. 
 

Christina Gonzalez becomes Director of Operations, CA Region at MB2 Dental. Prior to MB2, Christina was Senior Director of Operations at Ocean Dental.  She was a district manager at Coast Dental and an operations executive at Smiles Brands Inc. She has also been a RDA instructor at American Career College.

Trish Keena, RDH, FAADH has been promoted to Vice President of Dental Hygiene at Elite Dental Partners. She started with the DSO about a year and a half ago as their director of dental hygiene. She was worked in RDH Magazine's marketing department. She has also worked for Bausch Health Companies,  The Oral Cancer Foundation and Water Pik, Inc.
 

Brenda Goldman joins Specialty Dental Brands as their Director of Operations. Prior to Speciality, Brenda worked in both development and operations at D4C Dental Brands, Inc. She has also held management positions at both DCT Management Group and Pure Dental Brands. Speciality Dental Brands was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.

Maria Ocampo has joined Bright Direction Dental as their Director of Revenue Cycle Management. Prior to Bright Direction, she worked for nearly seven years for United Dental Partneres in revenue cycle management. She also worked in billing administrator roles at WhiteGold Dental Partners, Oak Brook Smiles and Silva Dental Center. Bright Direction is headquartered in Chicago, IL.

Demi Gray, MBA, MHRM, Ph.d.c started a new position as Chief People & Culture Officer at OMS360. Prior to this position, Demi held a position in the Chief HR and Administration Office at Southern Dental Alliance. Prior to that she was Head of HR at Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions. OMS360 partners with oral maxillofacial surgery practices. It was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. The dental group is led by Trevor Maurer, CEO.

Guardian Dentistry Partners Add Four Leaders:

Heading the significant expansion in the Finance Department is Jason Dignan, who joined GDP on July 5 and is responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), tax and audit compliance, budgets and investor relations. He has 20 years’ experience in finance positions, most recently as Vice President Financial Planning and Analysis with Sequoia Financial Group where he also served as that company’s controller.

Amy Duzyk also began in her new role at GDP on July 5 and is working closely with Dignan in the Finance Department. Coming into her position as Controller, Duzyk brings some 17 years of accounting experience, most recently as Assistant Controller for Texas-based Specialty Partners. Prior to that role, Duzyk was Accounting Director at North American Dental Group where she oversaw the implementation of a new financial system as well as a new practice management system for the company. 

The third recent hire in the Finance area is Cristina Menendez, who joined the Guardian team on July 12 and is working closely with Vice President of Finance Operations Robert Papenbrock to assist in integrating new practices. Menendez was most recently Controller for CareMax and served as Controller for Miami-based Managed Healthcare Partners, LLC, for several years.

As GDP’s new Director Hygiene Development, Tiffani Schick is bringing more than 18 years’ experience in the dental industry with seven years of multi-unit clinical management experience, including managing hygiene operations of 24 clinics. Schick worked for both Elite Dental Partners and Compass Health Network and bases her approach to hygiene on in-depth coaching, mentoring and leading employees, students and teams in becoming more successful hygienists.

Scott Bishop started a new position as Director of Operations & Strategic Growth Leader at Smile Partners USA.  He has also worked in operations and managment positions at DECA Dental Group, Pacific Dental Services, and CDP. Smile Partners USA was started in Troy Michigan and supports practices in Michigan and Georgia.

Johanna Tesoniero, DDS, EMBA, MAGD joins Cano Dental as the COO of Expansion Markets.  Dr. Tesoniero has been the Chief Clinical Officer and Advisory Board Member for almost five years at Onsite Dental. She was a clinical consultat at the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners for almost four years. She was also a faculty member at Spear Education for six years. Prior to that she was Director of Clinical Operations and Quality at Gentle Dental Careers. She began her career as a dentist for American Dental Partners. Cano is headquartered in Miami, Florida and has 29 locations in Florida and Texas.

 Lightwave Dental announced the hiring of Steven Flack as CFO. He is responsible for directing finance strategies and processes for Lightwave and its network of affiliated dental practices. Steven joins Lightwave with more than 30 years of experience helping to transform private equity backed multi-location healthcare providers in behavioral health, physical therapy, and occupational medicine. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer of Invo Healthcare-Progressus Therapy, a leading behavioral health and special education organization that specializes in school-based therapy and early intervention services for school districts and communities. Founded in 2016, Lightwave Dental currently supports more than 200 dentists and 1,800 active employees in 76 dental offices across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama.

 U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) – a specialty management services company that exclusively serves oral and maxillofacial surgeons – has decided to expand the scope of the chief clinical officer role, inviting Vincent J. Perciaccante, DDS, FACS, to join Colin S. Bell, DDS, MSD, as chief clinical officer. Both have served as president of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), which is the certifying board for the industry in the U.S. In his new role, Dr. Perciaccante will be responsible for business development, clinical compliance and clinical processes. Dr. Perciaccante is a managing partner of and practicing surgeon with South Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a USOSM partner practice with three locations in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. He has served as president of ABOMS, the Georgia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery section of the International Association of Dental Research.
