U.S. Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) congratulates its surgeon partner Julia R. Plevnia, DDS, FACS, FACD, on her recent ACOMS Humanitarian Award. The award, given by the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, recognizes outstanding philanthropic and humanitarian contributions made by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. It is awarded only to those of “exceptional merit,” not bestowed annually. Dr. Plevnia is one of only 14 people to receive the award, since it was established in 1990. The last award was bestowed in 2016. She was Colorado State Surgeon in 2018 and the Colorado Army National Guard/Colorado Joint State Surgeon in 2020. She is the first female, first Dental Corp officer and first oral maxillofacial surgeon to hold those distinctions. Today, Dr. Plevnia continues to serve as the Colorado Army National Guard/Colorado State Surgeon and holds the rank of Colonel. She recently received the Order of Military Medical Merit for significant contributions to the U.S. Army Medical Education Department.

Tend names multi-site healthcare veteran Troy Bage as CEO. Bage succeeds Founding CEO Doug Hudson, who scaled the company from its inception to 25 locations and 650 employees in four years. Hudson will continue in a senior advisory role to the Board of Directors and Tend’s executive team. Bage was most recently the CEO of Ivy Rehab for Kids and ABA network with over 125 sites in 8 states. He previously served as COO of its parent company, Ivy Rehab, which he helped grow from 60 to more than 500 locations. At Tend, Bage’s experience will be instrumental in efficiently scaling the business, as well as increasing its focus on clinical excellence and member experience. Bage will be based out of Tend’s Nashville hub, with frequent visits to additional markets as the company enters new markets nationwide.

Benevis appoints Christopher Toscano to chief field operations. Christopher will have direct responsibility and oversight for the field operations team to enhance coordination and care at Benevis’ 120 practices nationwide. Most recently, Christopher served as vice president of operations at a large multi-site healthcare organization, where he oversaw and collaborated with the field team to improve clinical outcomes across the Northeast. In addition, Christopher has consulting experience with prior roles with EY and Alvarez & Marshal where he had interim operational leadership roles. Benevis’ network reaches more than 100 locally branded dental offices across the U.S. that deliver treatment through 1.2 million visits each year. Benevis also advocates for programs and legislation that ensure all families have access to the oral healthcare they need and deserve.

42 North Dental welcomes Holly Firestine as their new chief people officer. Holly brings over 25 years of experience working in HR, operations, and strategy at companies like Ethos Veterinary Health, Navvis, and Healthways. She will lead the DSO’s HR, recruiting and learning & development teams.

Oakpoint welcomes Jen Nagy as sr. VP of operations. Jen brings significant depth to their operational team having previously worked for Specialty Dental Brands, Pure Dental Brands, Spring & Sprout and Corner Dental. Jen has an extensive background in partnering with doctors to help develop and scale their practices. She has experience working closely with general dental practices and all specialties, including endodontics, OMS, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and orthodontics. Her background spans over fifteen years in the dental industry and working with dental support organizations receiving private equity investment.

Nancy Attia is promoted to VP of acquisition integration at Dental365, a subsidiary of Premier Care Dental Managment. Prior to this new position, Nancy was regional director of operations. She began her dental career as an office manager in New Jersy.

Rob Daniel joins Marquee Dental Partners as their senior director of market operations. Prior to joining Marquee, Rob was senior director of operations at Guardian Dentistry Partners. He has also worked in operations for DECA Dental Group, Smile Brands, Western Dental & Orthodontics and Aspen Dental Management, Inc.

Sage Dental promotes Trevor Blight to director of market operations. Prior to this position, Trevor was their acquisitions specialist. He began working for Sage as a patient service coordinator and spent time working in training and development and office management.

Courtland Burton joins SOHDental as their operations leader. Prior to working for the DSO, Courtland was the co-founder and CEO at Taylor Made Smiles in Franklin Tennesse. SOHDental is headquartered in CHesterfield, MO and was founded in 2017.

Membersy expands executive leadership team with executive vice president of customer success, Kim Diamond. Kim joins Membersy with a dedicated focus on delivering exceptional service and support, bolstering the organization’s strategic commitment of fostering strong partnerships and fueling business growth. Prior to joining Membersy, Diamond spent over 15 years at Henry Schein in various leadership roles across sales, customer support, and operational functions.
