Just in time for the holidays, DSO donates $250K to a Dental Hygiene Clinic

Just in time for the holidays, Heartland Dental, the largest dental support organization in the United States, donated $250,000 to the Lake Land College Dental Clinic. Heartland Dental’s gift is further enhanced by Heartland’s enormous purchasing power.  The total gift value, with Heartland’s pricing discount, is approximately $678,000.

The gift from Heartland Dental will be used to acquire dental equipment, including new dental chairs and dental units.  These new dental units will enable space for computer systems that will offer the hygiene students the ability to utilize and train on dental patient management software. The renovations are set to begin in the Spring of 2017. Heartland and Lake Land College are hopeful that these funds will also help with the creation of a dental hygiene tutoring center.

“This generous gift will provide state-of-the-art training equipment and educational opportunities for our dental hygiene students,” explains Lake Land College President Josh Bullock.

Lake Land College is located in Mattoon, IL [east-central Illinois] approximately 25 miles from Heartland Dental’s corporate offices in Effingham, IL.  Lake Land College serves approximately 8,000 students with various two-year degree programs, including an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.
