Opportunities in a DSO or Dental Group Setting

Finances are the engine of any dental organization. Corporate finance is concerned with how businesses fund their operations in order to maximize profits and minimize costs. It deals with the day-to-day operations of a business’ cash flows as well as with long-term financing goals. In addition to capital investments, corporate finance is concerned with monitoring cash flows, accounting, preparing financial statements, and taxation.

Depending upon the needs of each group, financial roles can range from Bookkeeper to an Accounting level title to Manager to Director to Vice President to the highest point of Chief Financial Officer. As titles and responsibilities very greatly by organization, a good rule of thumb is a progression from office and day-to-day responsibilities at the administrator and manager level to a more strategic and visionary role for the C-level.
