Dental Support Organization’s VP is Named President-Elect for ADHA

Midwest Dental vice president of clinical development Tammy Filipiak, RDH, MS, has been elected President-Elect of the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA) for the 2016-2017 term. The ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 185,000 dental hygienists across the country.

“We congratulate Tammy for this great and deserving honor,” said Steve Spellman, chief executive officer, Midwest Dental. “Tammy embodies the spirit of all our employees who work to continuously push the profession of dentistry and dental hygiene forward.”  Supporting the local dentists of Midwest Dental, Mountain Dental and Merit Dental, Midwest Dental Support Center operates over 170 dental offices in 15 states.

Filipiak has been a member of the ADHA since 1986 and has served the organization in a number of areas during that time including as council member, chair, task force member, District VII trustee and most recently as vice president in 2015-2016. Additionally, she has held leadership positions within the Wisconsin Dental Hygienists Association, including a term as president.

“I am honored to represent the ADHA as President-Elect,” said Filipiak. “The organization does great work both for the professional development of dental hygienists across the country and to improve the public’s oral and overall health.”

Filipiak is a practicing dental hygienist with 30 years of experience in clinical, educational and management settings. She joined Midwest Dental in 2004 as the Director of Dental Hygiene, was promoted to the Director of Clinical Development in 2010, and then to Vice President of Clinical Development in 2015. Tammy earned her dental hygiene degree from Northcentral Technical College, her BS degree in Business from Upper Iowa University, and her MS degree in Organizational Leadership and Quality from Marian University.
