Startup DSO Continues to Ride the Dental Industry’s Wave of Change

Virginia based Light Wave Dental Management, a portfolio company of affiliated funds managed by Alpine Investor, recently affiliated with the Herbert Dental Group. With offices in Leesburg and Purcellville, Virginia, The Herbert Dental Group was founded in 1973 and delivers holistic, lifetime dental care. Drs. Amanda Brown and Walter Collazo’s operate the practices.

With the affiliation, Light Wave, a dental support organization providing management services for top-tier dental practices, expands its presence in Northern Virginia as it continues to build its presence on the East Coast. Light Wave and Peterson Partners joined forces in November of 2016 and started affiliating dental practices in Virginia. Light Wave’s approach to practice management allows its dentist partners to spend more time caring for their patients and less time on the administrative, marketing and financial aspects of running a dental practice.   It seeks to partner with doctors approaching retirement and younger doctors looking for a better path to practice ownership.
