ADA Health Policy Institute To Host DSO webinar

On Monday, March 6th, the ADA is hosting a a data driven webinar on dental support organizations: “How Big are Dental Service Organizations?” Marko Vujicic, Chief Economist & VP, The Health Policy Institute at the ADA, is moderating the webinar which runs from 11:30-12:30 (CST).  If you are a GDN subscriber, this free webinar will be extremely beneficial. You do not need to be a member of the ADA to register.

According to the ADA, “The dental practice model is changing. Solo practices are slowly being replaced by various types of group practices, including dental service organizations (DSOs). The Health Policy Institute has compiled new data on the size of the DSO market and the demographic profile of dentists that practice in these models. Which states have the highest DSO market share? Are DSO-affiliated dentists more likely to accept Medicaid? Which dental schools tend to have graduates who affiliate with DSOs? Join us for this ‘data unveiling’ and an interactive panel discussion about DSOs and their possible implications for the future of dentistry.

The Health Policy Institute strives to maintain the most comprehensive data on the U.S. dental care system.  HPI has several ongoing data collection initiatives, including extensive data collection on dentists’ incomes, dentist and patient demographics, location of dentists and dental fees, which can be merged with numerous external proprietary data.  HPI  also routinely purchases proprietary data such as claims data, demographic data, and relies heavily on data sets maintained by the U.S. government. This rich underlying data infrastructure allows in-depth analysis of various issues.”
