Dr. Muhammad Ali Shazib has been appointed HPU Workman School of Dental Medicine‘s newest Dean. Scott De Rossi was the previous and founding Dean.  Prior to becoming Dean, Dr. Shazib was assistant dean and Chief Clinical Officer at HPU School of Dental Medicine. Richard Gervais joined 42 North Dental as their new Chief Development Officer. Richard will be responsible for the strategic direction, origination, and execution of dental affiliations. He has over 15 years of experience in M&A, both on the sell-side as an advisor and on the buy-side in various roles within organized dentistry, including Canada’s largest network of dental practices, dentalcorp.

Dental Care Alliance welcomed new Chief Financial Officer, Victoria Garcia. Victoria replaces Russell Allen, who served as DCA’s Chief Financial Officer for the past seven years and recently left DCA to pursue other interests. Before joining DCA, Garcia served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting for North American Partners in Anesthesia, a private-equity owned, leading single-specialty anesthesia and perioperative management company in the United States, serving nearly three million patients annually in more than 500 healthcare facilities.

United Dental Corporation (UDC) announced senior leadership promotions: Elise Nussbaumer as Chief Operating Officer and Lynne Buckley as Controller

• Lynne currently serves as UDC’s Assistant Controller and will expand her responsibilities to coincide with her wealth of accounting experience in both established and emerging growth companies. Prior to joining UDC, Lynne served as Controller of American Orthopedic Partners, a sponsor-backed consolidator of orthopedic practices.  Lynne’s experience also encompasses accounting leadership roles at healthcare and multisite companies including HCA Healthcare and Walmart.
• Elise currently serves as UDC’s Vice President of Operations and has 25 years of experience across multiple facets of the dental industry.  In addition to her practice experience, Elise has held senior roles at dental consulting firms and DSOs, directly responsible for growth initiatives, integration of practices, and learning and development programs.  Prior to joining UDC, Elise served as M&A Project Manager and Director of Learning & Development at D4C Dental Brands.

Imagen Dental Partners announced the appointment of Josh Davis as its new Chief Development Officer. Josh has an extensive two-decade background in multi-site healthcare and significant experience in dental leadership. Prior to joining Imagen Dental Partners, Josh was Chief Development Officer at Specialty Dental Brands. He also worked for Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics as the Chief Growth Officer.

Caitlin Maehr is promoted to VP of Operations at Areo Dental Group. Prior to this promotion, Caitlin was their Director of Operations. She has also held various operations positions at 42 North Dental.

Giselle Collins became the newest non-executive director of Pacific Smiles Group’s Board. She will chair the Australian-based DSO’s audit and risk committee. Giselle is currently Chairman of Hotel Property Investments (ASX:HPI), a non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for both Generation Development Group (ASX:GDG) and Cooper Energy (ASX:COE).
