From the moment Heidi Arndt RDH, BSDH opened the January 10-11 Dental Group Evolution conference, the message was clear, the event would be a one-of-a-kind conference designed specifically for new, emerging and mid-size dental groups, it would exceed expectations, and there would be lots to celebrate. And it did just that.
Attendees heard from trailblazers in the dental group industry who are changing the face and delivery of dentistry. Keynote speaker, Rick Workman, DMD, founder of Heartland Dental, which is the largest dental support organization in the United States with more than 875 supported dental offices located in 37 states, shared his personal journey of how he built Heartland Dental and he took questions from the audience.
During the conference, which was held at the fabulous Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona, attendees gained valuable content, networked with the country’s best, and gathered real-life solutions to take back to their practice and implement immediately. CEs were also offered to those who registered.
Throughout the two days, the agenda that was infused with relevant sessions delivered from the main stage by industry experts, along with breakout sessions that honed in on topics like, ‘How to Create Your Operational Playbook,’ ‘Legal Structures for Growth,’ and ‘Digital Workflow.’ Additionally, the action-packed event offered ample opportunities to mix and mingle with the sponsors, and even had expert panelists who discussed associate compensation, ways to promote retention, and acquisition on-boarding. These panels left plenty of time for the audience to ask impromptu questions which were answered on the spot.
However, the most anticipated part of the agenda was when Arndt took the stage as the first day came to a close to make a special announcement. With a sentimental but excited tone, she announced that Dental Group Evolution and thus her companies, Enhanced Hygiene and Enhanced Practices, had been acquired by Ascension Dental. Ascension Dental, led by CEO, Eric Johnson, is an oral health company that provides dentists with thoughtfully designed membership plans to make dentistry more approachable. Both Enhanced Hygiene and Ascension Dental have been long-time and loyal sponsors of Group Dentistry Now (GDN).
“I am thrilled to be joining Ascension Dental. Along with many others, I firmly believe that membership dentistry is the future and I look forward to helping grow the membership narrative for years to come. The partnership brings the best in dental membership plan education and support to practices across the country.” -Heidi Arndt, COO, Ascension Dental
Founded in 2011 by Heidi Arndt, Enhanced Hygiene’s coaching and training programs have helped hundreds of dental practices achieve their long sought after goals – improved leadership, teamwork, organizational systems, patient care, and overall practice bottom line. Holding a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene, her experience includes treatment coordinator, dental assistant, and practice manager.
Joining Ascension Dental as their new chief operating officer, Arndt has dedicated her career to developing and supporting quality patient care and creating engaged and profitable group dental practices. Ascension Dental got its start developing and administering custom dental membership plans for solo dentists, group practices and dental service organizations. The new partnership will combine missions to help practices become less reliable on unfavorable third-party dental insurance companies and connect directly to patients through professionally administered dental membership plans.
“I have gotten to know Heidi over the last few years and really admire what she has been doing for dentistry. Her stellar reputation is a true testament to her long-standing advocacy for quality patient care. We’re excited to have Heidi join our company and with her leadership, our hope is to continue to offer our clients and their valued patients a membership experience that is second-to-none.” -Eric Johnson, Founder & CEO, Ascension Dental
As the owner operator of Dental Group Evolution, Ascension Dental and their entire growing team look forward to 2020’s DGE conference, to welcoming new faces, and reconnecting with previous attendees. Stay tuned to Group Dentistry Now for details on next year’s event.
