Patterson Dental & Sirona ink deal with American Dental Partners to provide CEREC Omnicam Connect technology.

Patterson Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq:PDCO)  announced a new agreement that will bring high-tech CEREC units to dental groups affiliated with American Dental Partners, Inc. (ADPI). The enterprise-wide agreement will help dentists affiliated with ADPI bring high quality care to their patients.

“We firmly believe that expansion into this market is a win-win that will provide a strong return on investment for ADPI, confirm the superiority of Sirona’s advanced equipment and drive long-term growth for Patterson,” said Paul Guggenheim, president of Patterson Dental, “Expansion into the large dental practice market has been a priority for us this year, and we are glad to see momentum behind this initiative. We are proud to deliver what we believe is the best-in-class digital impression technology platform.”

ADPI’s affiliated dental groups will use Sirona’s CEREC Omnicam Connect technology to create digital impressions faster and more efficiently than traditional methods. Dentists can use the innovative Sirona Connect Technology to send digital impressions to the dental laboratory, resulting in a faster turnaround time for patients and reduced costs for practitioners. The Omnicam Connect technology also allows workflow integration with orthodontic systems, and can be used for Invisalign® case submissions, which require a scanner that can capture a full arch digital impression.

“We are deeply committed to providing our affiliated dental groups with patient-centered technology. Digital impression technology advances our long-standing commitment to practice-based technology that enables high-quality clinical care and enhances the patient-care experience,” said Gregory Serrao, CEO and President of ADPI. “Several of our affiliated dental groups participated in a year-long pilot program evaluating several different digital impression systems. Based on the outcomes of the pilot program, we and our affiliated dental groups agreed that Sirona/Patterson would be our partner for digital impression scanning. We will offer CEREC Omnicam to our affiliated dental groups through our dental laboratory.”

American Dental Partners is one of the nation’s leading business partners to dental group practices. The Company is affiliated with 22 dental group practices, representing over 390 locations, which are located in 21 states.
