Cornerstone Dental Specialties (CDS), the largest endodontic dental support organization (DSO) in the United States, has just announced the appointment of Judy Forsythe as Vice President of Field Operations and Clinical Recruitment.
Cornerstone Dental Specialties set out over 22 years ago to remove barriers to access and make going to the endodontist convenient and efficient. The specialty DSO’s founder and CEO, Dr. Hamid Abedi, wanted to bring the endodontist directly to the patient in the comfort of their general practitioner’s office. Since then, Cornerstone has emerged as the market leader in scale and size with a team of 28 endodontists serving over 200 locations and delivering endodontic services to thousands of patients every month. Now, dental veteran Forsythe joins the Cornerstone team to help embark on its next chapter.

Forsythe has an in-depth understanding of DSO financial and clinical operations. She spent 20 years working chairside as a registered dental assistant (RDA) in California. In 2002 she assumed a senior leadership role in the training and education department at Pacific Dental Services, where she spent well over a decade developing programs, systems and processes for both the clinical teams, as well as, the operational departments. In her latest role at Pacific Dental Services, Forsythe worked in recruiting and represented the organization as the brand ambassador in the national dental assisting arena.
Forsythe was also an active member of the California State Dental Board, which is primarily comprised of dentists, where she spent two full four-year terms. Starting in 2006 she was appointed by the governor to the Committee on Dental Auxiliaries. In 2008 and 2009, she was voted chair of the committee and served as board secretary in 2014 and 2015, and board vice president in 2016. She has also been on the Dental Assisting Forum and Dental Assisting Council serving as chair of the Dental Assisting Council in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Additionally, Forsythe has served on the Advisory Board for the Pacific Dental Services Foundation, this board combines both of her passions, helping others and the clinical aspects of dentistry. Running the international dental clinics started by the Foundation in Ethiopia and Guatemala have been the most rewarding experiences of her life.

California-based Cornerstone Dental Specialties was recently in the news with their announcement of two dental support advancements. The first advancement is the CDS Connect, an app to assist their clinicians communicate within their network and manage other support functions.
